The study of medical laboratory techniques qualifies the student to obtain a bachelor's degree in this specialty, and that the curriculum vocabulary that the student studies is compatible with the intended learning outcomes and is mainly associated with the regular updating of knowledge acquisition in this specialty.

Supporting the health care system through high-accuracy diagnostics in case of illness is the main vision of the Medical Laboratory Technologies Department. Therefore, graduates from this department are directed to play a crucial role in providing accurate analyzes in medical laboratories to assist in the diagnosis of diseases by doctors, which makes it one of the important pillars in providing health services to maintain the health of society in general.

The mission of this department is to provide an opportunity for students who belong to different sectors of society to obtain the necessary experience and through high standards of accuracy in learning. The department trains students to become professionals in the field of health care and enjoy professional integrity. Studying in this department includes gaining great experience in analyzing body fluids, especially the chemicals present in it, in addition to detecting abnormal cells in the blood and analyzing it before transfusion.

Objectives:

The goal of the department is to graduate highly qualified and professional workers who work in medical laboratories and help lead the health care system in the Iraqi state. The program of the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques lasts four years, after which the graduate is awarded a bachelor's degree in this specialty.
