Tasks of the Classification Unit


  • Following up on the requirements and standards of global and local university rankings (e.g. QS, THE, Webometrics, etc.).
  • Collect and analyze data and indicators related to university rankings in coordination with the concerned colleges and departments.
  • Preparing strategic plans to improve the university's ranking in various rankings.
  • Documenting scientific, research, and educational activities that contribute to raising the university's ranking.
  • Follow-up on scientific publication rates and research citations in cooperation with the Scientific Research Division.
  • Updating the university's data on the approved ranking websites and platforms.
  • Coordinating with the Website Unit to ensure the accuracy and up-to-date of the published information.
  • Prepare periodic reports on the results of the rankings and submit them to the University Presidency.
  • Analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges related to the university's position in the rankings.
  • Providing suggestions and recommendations to improve academic and administrative performance according to classification criteria.
  • Follow up on the academic accreditation requirements related to university rankings.
  • Promote a culture of rankings among faculty members and staff.
  • Supporting participation in international ranking questionnaires.
  • Archiving documents and guides for university rankings.
  • Coordinating with government and ministerial agencies related to classification affairs.
